Dan offers private lessons. He specializes in dealing with all sorts of aggression issues, behavioural issues, such as crazy door behaviour, jumping up, housebreaking, barking ect., and working with the special needs of rescue dogs. Dan has over 20 years experience training, and has spent a substantial part of his life rescuing and rehabilitating dogs of all kinds with all kinds of issues.

The lessons are an hour and a half. The fee for a lesson is $160. Dan will show you what you need to do, and make sure you know how to do it. Email or call after the lesson if you have questions. You would be surprised what you can accomplish in only a lesson or two, and further consultation is always available if needed.

Dan is offering residency training, boarding, and behavioural consults. Residency training involves sending the dog to board, and he is trained while he is there. The owner must work with the dog some to reinforce what was taught in order for the training to “stick,” but otherwise the dog comes home better behaved, more obedient, and in better physical shape. Many issues can be addressed with residency training, including, but not limited to, obedience, behavioural issues e.g. Jumping, barking, housebreaking, dog aggression and socialization, and confidence building. The dog runs and plays with the rest of the pack on the farm, in addition to receiving concentrated training time and consistent reinforcement throughout the day.

Rates (plus HST)

• Residency Training – $800 per week. Offered on a regular basis. Includes a training session at drop off, and as much email support as you require. Most behavioural issues can be dealt with in a week or two. Obedience is 1-3 weeks depending on the requirements. Some dogs will require a week then require an additional in home lesson a few weeks after to fine tune. The time put in during residency training really makes a difference with your dog.
• Immersion Training – $3000 per month – Immersion training is a long term training program for dogs that need to be completely reformed. The dog lives the life of Dan’s own dogs and learns obedience, structure in the house, socialization with dogs, people and kids. Expect a permanent change of behavior for the better.  Includes drop off, and as many follow up lessons as required for the life of the dog.
• Private in-home lessons – The lessons are an hour and a half.  The fee per lesson is $160.

The boarding is offered at Dan and Tia’s farm near Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Owners must supply food, blanket that smells like home and a leash/collar.

Your dog(s) is picked up from your home and returned to you, so you don’t have to make the drive. Our pickup area includes most of HRM(Halifax, Bedford, Dartmouth, Tantallon, Hammonds Plains, Sackville, Hubbards, and Fall River), Lunenburg County(Hebbville, Bridgewater, New Germany, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg).

We can send pics and or videos of your dog to your email or mobile device. It is always nice to see your dog enjoying themselves.

Rates (plus HST)

• Boarding – $270 per week, $39 per day, $66 per day for 2 dogs
• Pick up & Drop off – $35 each way (some restrictions apply)
• Bathing – $30 for most dogs
• Nails – $10
• Thorough Brushing – $5

All dogs coming for boarding or residency training are required to be up to date on vaccinations.

All dogs must also be on flea/worming medication (e.g. Revolution, Bravecto, Sentinel, Advantage etc.).
